Clearlight CORE Tower Review: The Red Light That Goes in the Sauna

The tower with an actual reason to exist at this price: it goes inside the sauna you already own.

The verdict

A 38-inch tower built to mount inside a Clearlight cabin, which turns one appliance into two practices without adding a second machine to the room. Same 650nm and 850nm as the smaller tower, same five-year coverage, and the same unverifiable irradiance figure. Buy it for the sauna integration. That is the argument, and it is a good one. Buy it as a standalone panel and the maths get harder.

What you are buying

A 38-inch by 5-inch by 4-inch tower weighing 15 pounds and drawing 200 watts on a standard outlet. The base price of $1,499 includes the sauna mount. Every other mounting option costs more: floor stand $1,894, fixed wall mount $1,738, adjustable wall mount $1,798, adjustable door mount $1,828. The brand positions it for "the centre or CORE of your body", which is a fair description of what 38 inches covers when you are standing in front of it.

Where it wins

The one-job line, and for an unusual reason. Most red light products are a second box in a room that already has too many. This one hangs in a space that is already dedicated to a recovery practice, is already warm, and is already on your calendar. The friction that kills most home recovery gear is not price, it is finding the twenty minutes. Stacking red light onto a sauna session you already take is the most honest answer to that problem we have seen in this lane.

Company trust at Strong, on the same five-year warranty that carries the rest of the range. One year is the norm in red light.

Where it misses

The same four-inch problem. Clearlight publishes "approximately 55 to 110 mW/cm2 at 4 inches" for this tower, which is the identical figure quoted for the 13-inch PERSONAL Tower and the 59-inch FULL BODY Tower. Three products of very different sizes and two different wattages, one irradiance range. That range is also a 2x spread, published at a distance closer than the six inches most panel brands use, with no third-party measurement and no LED count. The mount pricing. The $1,499 headline gets you the one mount that only works if you own a Clearlight sauna. If you do not, the real entry price is $1,738 to $1,894, and at that point you are buying a narrow tower against full panels that cover considerably more of you for similar money. Value sits at Solid for that reason, not because $1,499 is unfair for what it is.

FDA language. The shop page says "FDA Registered". The brand's dedicated red light site says the products "are considered General Wellness products" and that statements "have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration". Why red light has no Editor's Pick

Editor's Pick requires Strong or better on all five dimensions. The Evidence line rates the practice, not the product, and red light rates Solid: the strongest controlled trial we cite followed 136 volunteers, found real improvements in skin complexion, roughness and collagen density, and used lamps rather than LEDs, so it supports the practice rather than any specific device. No red light product can take the badge until that base grows. The same rule blocks a pick in the movement lane.

Who it is for

Clearlight sauna owners, first and above everyone else. If you already have the cabin, this is the cheapest and least intrusive way to add a second practice to a room that is already working. If you do not own the cabin, price the mount you actually need before you compare it to anything.
