The verdict
Plunge Chill's cheapest chilled plunge, $500 under its 1HP bundle, which Meets the Standard. The catch is the match. It is the same 200 gallon Pro tub with a chiller Plunge Chill rates for 66 gallons. At 66 gallons its own page says 75°F water reaches 45°F in 12 to 14 hours, while the headline says 39°F. Two lines sit below Solid, so we hold it. If you want water under 45°F in a full-size tub, the 1HP bundle is the one to buy.
What you are buying
The chiller (1/3HP). 16.5 by 13.8 by 18.9 inches and 35 pounds, with a titanium coil, a built-in filter, an LED display and overheat protection. Plunge Chill's FAQ says to rinse the filter monthly and replace it yearly. It runs in air up to 95°F and should be covered in rain.
Cooling, as published. Based on 66 gallons: 75°F to 50°F in 8 to 10 hours, and 75°F to 45°F in 12 to 14 hours. Lowest temperature claimed: 39°F.
The tub (Pro). Inflatable double-layer PVC, 59 by 31.5 by 29.5 inches, with 7 to 8 cm insulated walls and an insulated lid with clamps. The comparison table says 200 gallons. The spec section says it "holds up to 66 gallons comfortably (matches 1/3 HP Chiller capacity)", and that it fits one adult up to 6'9".
Power. No voltage, amperage or wattage is published for the 1/3HP chiller.
Price. $999 on plungechill.com, checked October 27, 2026. The listed "regular price" of $2,099 is not a price anyone pays. The same chiller alone is $499, and the Pro tub alone is $499.
Where it wins
Price. A separate chiller that can be replaced, or moved to another tub. A 2-year warranty on the chiller and on bundles, which Plunge Chill confirmed to us in writing on October 22, 2026. A 30-day trial that accepts light use.
Where it misses
One job, at Adequate. The tub and the chiller are mismatched by a factor of three, and the published cooling never reaches the 39°F headline.
Build, at Adequate. No power specification is published for the 1/3HP chiller, and for its 1HP chiller, Plunge Chill confirmed to us on October 28, 2026 that the compressor is a UL-Recognized Component, which covers a part, not the finished chiller. It has not said the same for the 1/3HP.
The filter schedule. Monthly rinse and yearly replacement on this page, against the 3 to 4 weeks Plunge Chill gave us for the 1HP chiller. Ask which applies before you rely on either.
Company basis
2 years on chillers and on chiller and tub bundles, 1 year on tubs sold alone, a 30-day trial, and written answers from Plunge Chill within a day when we asked. Read from Plunge Chill's warranty and return pages and its written answers to us. Checked October 2026.
Who it is for
Someone who wants a chilled plunge for the lowest price and will accept water in the mid 40s, or who plans to fill the tub well below its full size. For colder water in the same tub, the Plunge Chill 1HP bundle Meets the Standard. To skip the chiller altogether, see Cold Plunge With or Without a Chiller?.
