What voids this warranty, and how to keep it: the free checklist

A 1HP chiller and tub for a third of the usual price, with the longest warranty in our cold lane. It meets the Standard once you give it its own GFCI circuit.

The verdict

A 1HP chiller and a 200 gallon inflatable tub for $1,499, a third of what most chilled plunges we rate cost. The price is real; the "regular" $3,468 shown next to it is not a price anyone pays. We held this rating until Plunge Chill answered two questions its pages left open, the power it needs and which warranty term applies. It answered both in writing: 120V on a dedicated GFCI circuit, and 2 years on the chiller and on chiller and tub bundles. The inflatable tub keeps Build at Solid, and the power details still live in an email rather than on the product page, but nothing sits below Solid. It meets the Standard.

What you are buying

The chiller (1HP). 16.5 by 13.8 by 18.9 inches and 73 pounds, on casters. Plunge Chill lists 2,600W of cooling (a comparison table on the same site says 2,700W), a titanium coil, R410A refrigerant, a 20-micron inline filter, an LED display, overheat and abnormal-power shutoff and a reset switch. It is rated for tubs up to 110 gallons, with a lowest temperature of 36°F and about 8 hours to take 110 gallons from 80°F to 40°F. It cools only: no heating, no ozone, no UV.

The tub (Pro). Inflatable double-layer PVC on drop-stitch, 59 by 31.5 by 29.5 inches, 35 pounds empty, 200 gallons, sold as fitting two people or one person up to 6 feet 9. It comes with an insulated lid with four clamps, an air pump, a carry bag, a submersible pump, an external filter and pump system, three insulated hoses and the fittings.

The price. $1,499 on plungechill.com, checked October 23, 2026, against a listed "regular price" of $3,468. Every product on the site shows a regular price a little over twice the sale price, under a standing sale banner. A permanent discount is a price, not a saving. The same chiller with the smaller Plus tub is $1,399.

Before you order: five checks

  • Power: 120V, 60Hz, 2,600W peak, per Plunge Chill's written answer to us (October 22, 2026); it is not on the product page yet. Plunge Chill recommends a dedicated 15A or 20A GFCI circuit, and a heavy 10-AWG extension cord only if one cannot be avoided. Our advice: give it its own GFCI circuit and skip the cord.
  • Fill level: 80 to 110 gallons, about half to 60 percent of the tub, per Plunge Chill. That matches the chiller's 110 gallon rating.
  • Floor: 110 gallons of water weighs over 900 pounds before anyone gets in. Use a level surface that can take it.
  • Returns: 30-day trial. Plunge Chill told us light use during setup is fine, including on sale and bundled items, but its return policy page still says unused only. Ask for that in writing when you order.
  • Filter: a 20-micron inline cartridge, changed every 3 to 4 weeks depending on use.

Where it wins

The price, first. $1,499 buys a 1HP chiller and a tub; the Sun Home Cold Plunge, also inflatable with a 1HP chiller, is $3,999 on sale, and the other chilled plunges we rate cost more again. The chiller is a separate unit, so a failed tub or chiller can be replaced on its own and the chiller works with other tubs. The warranty is the longest in our cold lane: Plunge Chill confirmed 2 years on the chiller and on chiller and tub bundles (1 year on a tub bought alone), where every other chiller we rate carries 1 year. Returns carry no restocking fee.

Where it misses

Power is confirmed by email, not published. Until Plunge Chill puts the voltage, amps and circuit on its product page, the only written source is its reply to us. With the inflatable tub, which caps Build at Solid for every inflatable we rate, that keeps Build at Solid.

Safety listing: a UL-Recognized Component, not a full listing. The site calls the chiller "UL-certified". On October 28, 2026, Plunge Chill confirmed to us in writing that the compressor is a UL-Recognized Component. That covers a part inside the chiller, not the finished chiller, and no listing for the chiller itself is published. As of October 2026 none of the cold plunge brands we rate publishes a full listing, so it does not change the score.

36°F is the hardware limit, not the daily reading. Plunge Chill says the chiller can reach 36°F without ice; the 39°F on its warranty page reflects where most owners set it, between 39°F and 42°F.

The benefits list runs ahead of the evidence. The product page lists weight loss, immune support and hair and skin among the benefits. Our Evidence line rates the practice and does not repeat those.

What Plunge Chill confirmed

We sent Plunge Chill five questions on October 21, 2026, and it answered the next day in writing: 2 years on the 1HP chiller and on chiller and tub bundles, 1 year on a tub bought alone; 120V, 60Hz, 2,600W peak, with a dedicated 15A or 20A GFCI circuit recommended; fill the Pro tub to 80 to 110 gallons; a 30-day trial with light use acceptable, including on promotional items; a 20-micron filter changed every 3 to 4 weeks. That settles both open questions, so the rating moves from Held to Meets the Standard. Plunge Chill pays us a commission, which changes nothing here.

Company basis

The term. 2 years from delivery on the chiller and on chiller and tub bundles; 1 year on a tub bought alone (confirmed by Plunge Chill in writing, October 22, 2026). Claims are replacement only, with no refunds under warranty; you send a description, an explanation of how it happened and photos or video, and remote troubleshooting is a required step before any replacement.

Returns. A 30-day trial with no restocking fee. The return policy page still says unused only and no returns on sale items, while the product page and Plunge Chill's written answer to us say light use during setup is fine, including on sale and bundled items.

Track record. Founded in 2020, per its affiliate profile. Trustpilot shows 4.7 of 5 on 184 reviews (October 21, 2026) on a claimed profile with a paid subscription, and the company replies to negative reviews. We found no independent long-term review.

What voids it. Per the warranty page: improper use, storage, neglect or negligence, and Plunge Chill reserves the right to refuse service, replacement or technical support if it suspects any of those. No published rules yet on water chemistry, filter changes, power or freezing. We will add them if Plunge Chill publishes them.

Winter. Nothing published on outdoor use below freezing. Treat it like any chiller: water must keep flowing, and freezing damage is the most common exclusion in this category.

Who it is for

Someone who wants a chilled plunge on a budget and can give it its own GFCI circuit. For a rigid tub, the Plunge All-In (Gen 2) and Renu Vero also Meet the Standard at a higher price, and The Cold Life Ultimate Lite is the other inflatable we rate. To skip the chiller altogether, see Cold Plunge With or Without a Chiller?.
